A young army officer heard Lord Radstock speak one evening in Woolwich and afterward asked him, “Sir…tell me, how can a fellow keep straight?”
Lord Radstock pulled a pencil from his pocket and laid it on the palm of his hand. “Can that pencil stand upright?” The young officer admitted it couldn‘t. Then Lord Radstock said, “Your life is like this pencil, helpless, but Christ is the hand that can hold you.”
That same officer met Lord Radstock 25 years later and told him that on that very night so many years ago he had trusted his life to Christ, who had kept him in His hand ever since.
