Blessed

What is it to be blessed? You might think it means lucky, or fortunate, or simply happy. It may sometimes mean these things, but a deeper meaning is that to be blessed is to let the will of God work in you. When Elizabeth calls out, "Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb" to Mary, she means a lot more than Mary and her baby are happy and fortunate. The will of God flows through them, and we can be blessed as well, if only we would let it happen.
